The Arga wind farm is located in the northern part of Continental Portugal, in the Arga mountains, municipality of Caminha, in the district of Viana do Castelo. The wind farm is comprised of 12 wind turbines with an output capacity of 3 MW, connected to the wind farm control building and substation through underground electric cables, and thereafter connected to the REN substation by overhead lines. The wind farm has about 18,000 m of access roads. Some 2,600 m of longitudinal drainage, 32 transverse drainage units and an environmental upgrade of about 27,000 m2 area was also carried out. In addition to the execution of a control and substation building, 2,400 m of cable trenches were executed, as well as 12 platforms with about 1,800 m2 each, for support to the assembly of the wind turbines. About 6,000 m3 of concrete, 480 tons of steel and 6,800 m3 of CABC (Crushed Aggregated Base Course) was used.
