The wind farm of Falperra-Rechãzinha is located in the northern part of Continental Portugal, in the Falperra mountains, municipality of Vila Pouca de Aguiar, in the district of Vila Real. Its general orientation is north-south and it has a difference in altitude of about 130 meters, between 1,000 and 1,130 MASL, covering an area of about 300 hectares and is integrated into the Upper Alvão-Marão of the Natura 2000 Network. The wind farm of Falperra-Rechãzinha is comprised of 22 wind turbines with an output capacity of 2 MW, connected to the wind farm control building and substation through underground electric cables, and thereafter connected to the Montenegrelo substation and from there to the REN substation by overhead lines. The wind farm has about 8,720 m of access roads: 4,180 m was upgraded while 4,540 m was newly built. Some 9,400 m of longitudinal drainage, 23 transverse drainage units, 10 service roads and an environmental upgrade of a 9,700 m2 area was also carried out. In addition to the execution of a control and substation building, 16,400 m of cable trenches was executed, as well as 22 platforms with about 1,400 m2 each, for support to the assembly of the wind turbines. About 7,600 m3 of concrete, 800 tons of steel and 13,700 m3 of CABC (Crushed Aggregated Base Course) was used.
