The work in question consists of Renaturalization and Requalification of the riverfront in Santo Tirso. The aim is to create a logical sequence of pedestrian paths, valuing the historical heritage (Monastery of S. Bento, Passeio dos Frades, Bridge over the Ave River) and the natural (Ave River, weir, land of the Agricultural School, riparian forest), creating the physical support for a city that now has a large green space at its disposal, the Parque da Rabada (Rabada Park). The intervention includes the following works: renaturalization and landscaping of the surrounding area; Rua do Rio Ave (section of road linking the intervention area with the bridge over the Ave River, including a car park and trees); elevated pedestrian decked pathway between the parking and the bend of the Ave River upstream of the weir; pathways and pedestrian bridge linking the platform (the square) to the Parque da Rabada.
