Steel bridge over the Tagus River

Rehabilitation of the engineering structure. The bridge connects the two banks of the Tagus River with a total length of 368 m, including the abutments. The pillars and abutments are in granite masonry and are based on the rock (Metagrauvaques) with the exception of the P3 pillar that is founded in the alluvium and about 2 m from the rock layer. The structure is characterized by a box girder steel superstructure, with an upper tray, consisting of two longitudinal vertical truss beams with steel bracing (top, bottom and cross bracing), supporting a reinforced concrete deck.
The works consist of foundation reinforcement, the repair and reinforcement of the deck, the reinforcement and improvement of the steel superstructure, among other works such as paving, signalling, public lighting and accent lighting of the bridge's steel structure.
