Infraestruturas Hidráulicas
Data Sheet
The Pedrogão Pumping System is composed of a pump station located downstream of the Pedrogão dam on the right bank of the Guadiana, designed to pump 12.55 m3 / s with a pump head of 80.9 m. The discharge is transported to the Pedrógão reservoir through a prestressed concrete cylinder pipe of about 2.75 km in length and nominal diameter of 2,500 mm. The reservoir has a plan area of over 6 ha and a total storage volume of 145,000 m3. A service road connecting the Pump Station and the reservoir was built parallel to the pipeline which also allows access to the various mechanisms that exist along the pipeline, such as vacuum control and blowdown valves.
