The requalification, included the restoration of the whole property with total respect for its architecture and the reinforcement and consolidation of its structure and security, had as its objective the reconversion of Theatro Circo into a large cultural complex, equipped with the most current and complete scenic and sound technology and capable of responding to the needs of contemporary art in its most varied forms. In addition to the main hall, with seating capacity of 897, the development was complemented with two new rooms: a small auditorium with 236 seats and a rehearsal room. The capacity of support areas was also increased with the addition of new dressing rooms and storage rooms. The requalification also included the restoration of the original design of the Ceremonial Hall, now freed from the changes it has undergone over the years. The project was carried out in a consortium with Soares da Costa and Alexandre Barbosa Borges, with dst performing the following works: 1st phase - excavation, containment and basement structures; 2nd phase - superstructure; 3rd phase - containment and structures, Coffee Bar - containment, finishes, acoustic conditioning and complementary finishes.
